Back many years ago, I got an idea to shoot some friends/co-workers/models in headscarfs. I may have been inspired by some images I saw on Flickr or elsewhere. I do know that it wasn't for any kind of religious or political reason it was just to add something visually interesting and beautiful to the portrait and to allow a different kind of look and focus. I was super happy with how most of these shoots turned out and I think the simplicity of the lighting and background made the focus completely on the models face as it was wrapped in varying colours and textures from the scarves.
